Ventilated Big Bags

Used for storing and transporting firewood, logs, and other wood materials that benefit from good airflow during storage. The ventilated woven fabric helps air circulate through the bag, supporting faster drying and helping reduce moisture build-up in firewood and logs. Suitable for outdoor storage, seasonal use, and efficient handling of wood materials in landscaping, forestry, and agricultural environments.

What Is a Ventilated Big Bag?

Most big bags are designed to contain their contents as tightly as possible. Ventilated big bags do the opposite: they are built to let air flow freely through the fabric walls, keeping the contents dry, fresh and in good condition during storage and transport.

The open weave fabric — available in two types — replaces standard woven PP with either alternating mesh strips or a fully open mosquito net construction. The 160 g/m² fabric provides good resistance to sharp and ragged materials like wood splinters, while the open structure ensures continuous airflow through all four bag walls.

Ventilated Striped Fabric

Alternating bands of standard close-weave and open-weave PP. The dense bands provide structural strength; the open bands allow airflow. A cost-effective solution for moderate ventilation needs — standard log bags, garden waste, and agricultural use.

Best for: garden waste, green waste, log bags

Mosquito Net Fabric (Open Mesh)

Fully open-weave fabric with large, regular gaps between all tapes — maximum airflow across the entire bag surface. The open mesh flexes around sharp, splintered log ends rather than being cut by them. Logs remain fully visible for retail display.

Best for: firewood, logs, biomass chips, retail log sales

Why Your Product Needs a Ventilated Bag

ProductWhat happens in a sealed bagWhy ventilation solves it
🪵 Firewood & logsTrapped moisture causes mould, increases weight, reduces burning qualityWood continues drying after bagging — moisture content keeps falling
🌿 Green wasteActive decomposition generates heat and gas — anaerobic conditions developVentilation prevents overheating and keeps waste in good condition en route to processing
🌱 Fresh compostComposting generates heat and CO₂ — sealed bags can deform and burstGases escape freely — no pressure build-up, no anaerobic conditions
🌾 Biomass chipsMoisture retention causes degradation and reduced calorific value in storageMoisture released during storage — biomass maintains quality and energy content

⚠️ Ventilated bags are not suitable for dusty products

The open weave that lets air in also lets fine particles out. For dusty products, powders, or materials that require full containment, use a coated bag or a bag with a PE liner. Ventilated fabric is for coarse products where airflow is beneficial.

Our best-selling ventilated product

Log Bags & Firewood Bags

Firewood has two specific characteristics that make standard woven bags a poor choice — sharp, splintered log ends that cut standard PP fabric, and the need for continued drying after bagging. Our log bags use mosquito net fabric that solves both problems at once.

🌬️ Maximum airflow

Airflow through the entire bag surface — not just open strips. Wood continues to dry after bagging, helping you meet moisture content requirements for retail sale.

🪵 Sharp-edge resistant

The open mesh flexes and yields around sharp, splintered log ends rather than being cut by them. Standard woven bags fail quickly in firewood applications.

👁️ Full product visibility

Logs are fully visible through the mesh for retail display — buyers see exactly what they are purchasing. Ideal for firewood retail and farm shop sales.

📋 Ready to Burn compatible

Ventilated bags allow firewood to continue drying toward the <20% moisture threshold. Sealed bags trap moisture and can push certified wood fuel back above the limit.

Who uses them

Industries and Applications

🪵 Firewood & Forestry

The primary application. Log bags for firewood retail and trade, seasoning storage, and biomass supply chains. Mosquito net fabric is the standard choice for all firewood applications.

🌱 Garden & Green Waste

Seasonal garden clearance, prunings, branches and green waste for composting facilities. Ventilated striped fabric keeps green waste in better condition en route to processing.

🔥 Biomass & Energy

Wood chips, sawdust, shavings and biomass materials where moisture control maintains calorific value. Ventilated bags protect quality from field to processing plant.

🏪 Retail & Farm Shops

Firewood and produce in bags displayed at point of sale. The full product visibility through mosquito net fabric is a key selling point — customers can see exactly what they are buying.

🏗️ Waste Processing

Wood waste from dismantling, sawmill by-products, and wood offcuts. Ventilated bags prevent heating and degradation during temporary storage before recycling or energy recovery.
