Standard rubble sacks cannot be used for asbestos waste

Asbestos is a Class 9 dangerous good. Only certified asbestos bags with a sealed PE liner provide the containment required by law. Using a standard bag is illegal and creates serious personal and legal liability.

What Are Small Asbestos Bags?

Asbestos is a hazardous material that catches many homeowners off guard. Because of its excellent insulating properties, it was mixed into building materials for decades — and it is still found in homes, gardens, and on construction sites across Europe today. When asbestos appears during renovation or maintenance work, strict regulations govern how it must be disposed of safely.

Our small asbestos rubble bags are designed for the safe disposal of small to medium quantities of asbestos and its residues. Unlike large big bags that require a forklift, these bags are easy to handle and can be transported by hand — often by just one person. They are made from dense polypropylene and come with at least one PE liner, making them dust-proof and suitable for asbestos removal in compliance with EU and UK regulations.

💡 Not sure which to choose? As a rule, the sharper the edges of your waste, the more protection you need. Inliner requirements can also vary by region — check with your local authority about the rules and which disposal sites accept your asbestos bags before ordering.

Choosing the Right Level of Protection

Basic protection

LDPE bag / Transparent sack

For light asbestos residue, intact bonded asbestos materials, and cases where visual content identification is required. Most affordable entry-level option.

Standard protection

Bag with liner / Outside liner

For general asbestos waste including tiles, rubble, and moderate-risk material. Dual containment — inner or outer liner plus the bag itself. Most widely used option for residential projects.

Maximum protection

Double-walled with double liner

For sharp-edged asbestos waste — broken tiles, fragmented cement sheets, jagged rubble. Double wall and double liner provide the highest available protection against puncture and fibre escape.

✅ How to seal and use these bags

Pack the asbestos waste into the bag, expel as much air as possible, then seal with a cable tie or our special asbestos tape. The inner PE liner must be sealed — not just tied loosely — before the outer bag is closed. Label the bag immediately with the asbestos hazard markings before moving it. Take the sealed bags directly to a licensed asbestos disposal facility.
