Bags for Glass Wool
Mineral fibers are likely to occur during restructuring and demolition works in older buildings. Mineral wool (glass wool, rock wool) manufactured during the 20th century is said to be carcinogenic when penetrating into the human lung. In order to avoid inhalation of dangerous mineral fibers, 123BigBags offers a range dust-proof bags, made of coated fabric and equipped with a skirt with cord. These bags are legally required for mineral wool waste in Germany.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions buyers ask before ordering big bags and FIBCs.
SWL stands for Safe Working Load — the maximum weight a big bag can safely carry. Choose based on the actual weight of your material, not the volume. When in doubt, go one SWL size up. The safety factor is the ratio between breaking strength and SWL. Most standard big bags have a 5:1 safety factor. Some applications require 6:1. Always check the safety factor when your application involves lifting over people or machinery. A 4 loop big bag can be lifted from any direction and works with most forklifts. A 2 loop bag is used in specific automated systems. A 1 loop bag hangs from a single point and rotates freely. For most applications 4 loops is the standard choice. Standard loops are sewn to the top corners and stand upright. They work with most forklifts and spreader bars. Cross corner loops are sewn diagonally across the corners, giving a more stable lift with less bag bulging — preferred for heavy or dense materials. Tunnel loops run through a sleeve across the bag width and are used with pallet jacks or automated filling systems. Check with your forklift operator which type your equipment requires. You need a liner when your material is fine grained, moisture sensitive, food or pharmaceutical grade, or liquid. Liner types include form fit, tube and top open. Contact our team if you are unsure which liner suits your material. A food grade big bag is made from virgin materials under strict hygiene conditions with no recycled polypropylene. Required for food, animal feed, flour, sugar and similar products. Standard big bags are not suitable for direct food contact. UN certified big bags are required for transporting hazardous materials by road, sea or air. Common applications include asbestos waste and certain chemicals. Check with your logistics provider whether your material requires UN certification. Big bags are rated for single use (1 trip) or multiple use (multi trip). Multi trip bags are built for 3 to 5 cycles with inspection between each use. Never reuse a single use bag. A 5:1 safety factor means the bag is tested to hold five times its rated SWL before breaking. This is the standard for most general purpose big bags. A 6:1 safety factor means the bag is tested to six times its rated load and is required for certain hazardous goods transport, food applications or where regulations specify higher safety margins. If you are unsure which applies to your application check with your logistics provider or the relevant authority before ordering. An uncoated big bag is breathable woven polypropylene. A coated bag has a film layer inside making it moisture resistant and preventing fine particles from sifting through. Choose coated for fine grained or moisture sensitive materials. Top inlets: open top, spout top or duffle top. Bottom discharge: flat bottom, discharge spout or conical bottom. Choose based on your filling equipment and how you will empty the bag at the destination. Yes. Custom printed big bags are available with up to 4 colours and your company logo.
