Why Ventilation Is Everything in a Firewood Bag
Wood needs to breathe. When you store firewood in a sealed bag, moisture gets trapped inside and the wood stays damp. Damp wood burns poorly, produces more smoke, less heat and builds up creosote in your chimney.
Our firewood bags are built with ventilation on all four sides. Air circulates freely through the fabric, picking up moisture from the wood and carrying it out through the open top. This is especially important for freshly split or recently cut wood that still has a high moisture content.
The ventilation panels are strategically placed so that the structural strength of the bag is not compromised. Thicker, stronger fabric is used around the openings to ensure the bag remains durable and tear-resistant even under heavy loads.

Net Bags
For Maximum Airflow
Net bags are made entirely from open diamond mesh, giving unrestricted airflow from every direction. Unlike ventilated big bags where the fabric panels limit airflow somewhat, net bags allow air to pass freely through all sides, the base and the top simultaneously.
This makes net bags the best choice for freshly cut or very wet wood that needs to dry as quickly as possible. The open mesh also means the wood is clearly visible, making them ideal for retail display at garden centres, fuel stations and supermarkets.
Available in 30L and 40L sizes, net bags are typically used for kindling, smaller logs and firewood sold by the bag at retail.
Natural Option
Jute Sacks for Firewood and Kindling
Jute sacks are a natural, eco-friendly option for smaller quantities of firewood and kindling. They are breathable by nature, allowing air to circulate around the wood, and their natural texture means they are attractive for indoor display and gifting.
Available in four sizes from 25kg to 50kg capacity. The jute weave is open enough for adequate ventilation but strong enough to hold heavy loads without tearing.
Best suited for indoor storage, retail display and gifting rather than long-term outdoor storage, as jute will degrade more quickly when left outside in wet conditions.
100% Biodegradable and Plastic-Free
Our jute sacks are made from 100% natural jute fibre. No plastic, no synthetic materials. After use they break down completely and are fully compostable.

Applications
Who Uses Firewood Bags?
🏡 Private Home Use
Homeowners storing firewood for a wood burner, fireplace or outdoor fire pit. The 0.6m3 and 1m3 bags are the most practical sizes for private use, fitting neatly in a garden or against a wall. Mini bags work well for indoor storage next to the fireplace.
🏭 Commercial Firewood Sellers
Firewood producers and distributors who fill, store and deliver large quantities. The 1m3 and 1.5m3 bags are the industry standard, designed for forklift handling, efficient transport and direct delivery from bag to customer.
🏪 Retail and Garden Centres
Net bags and jute sacks are popular for retail display at garden centres, fuel stations and supermarkets. Their open construction shows the product clearly and the natural look of jute is attractive for premium firewood retail.
🌿 Green Waste and Wood Chips
Ventilated bags are not only for firewood. They are equally effective for green waste, wood chips, leaves and branches that need to dry before composting or disposal. The ventilation prevents the wet material from rotting inside the bag.

Frequently Asked Questions
Got a question about our firewood bags? Here are the most common ones. For more, contact us directly.
What is The Difference Between a Ventilated Big Bag and a Net Bag?
A ventilated big bag has solid woven PP fabric walls with ventilation stripes cut into the sides. It is more robust, holds heavier loads and is the standard choice for commercial firewood operations. A net bag is made entirely from open diamond mesh, giving maximum airflow from all directions. Net bags are better for very wet or freshly cut wood that needs fast drying and for retail display where the product needs to be visible.
Are Jute Bags Goof For Firewood?
Yes, jute sacks are a natural, breathable and biodegradable option for smaller quantities of firewood and kindling. They are best for indoor storage, retail display and gifting. For long-term outdoor storage, a ventilated PP big bag is more durable as jute degrades faster when left outside in wet conditions.
What Happens to a Jute Sack if it Gets Rained on?
Jute absorbs moisture and will weaken if left wet for extended periods. A single rain shower will not destroy the bag but repeated wetting and drying outdoors will degrade it faster than a PP bag. For long-term outdoor storage we recommend a ventilated big bag instead.
